Today is Constitution Day. On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed the United States Constitution and sent it to the states for ratification.
A good way to celebrate would be to learn more about the Constitution by visiting the Ashbrook Center’s new Web site devoted to the ratification of the Constitution. Developed by Prof. Gordon Lloyd of Pepperdine University and Roger Beckett, the site features articles on the debates over ratification, biographies of the key figures involved, as well as a timeline, and other resources.
Of course, as Ashbrook’s Peter Schramm notes, the Constitution is something to celebrate year round. So go ahead and bookmark the page, too
